The Marching Baritone is an amazing instrument. It is a bit heaver than the trumpet but lighter than a tuba. This is an excellent choice for marching band as the weight is compact and manageable. This was the instrument I played when I was in marching band. Give it a show when you have time.
The Euphonium is a beautiful instrument. Unlike it's partner in crime, the marching baritone, the Euphonium is usually played sitting down. However, it isn't too heavy to march it in a parade. The sound is softer than the marching baritone and resonates during band class. We usually sit by the french horns and trombones during class because then our sounds can be heard. Absolutely recommend trying the Euphonium. What are you waiting for?
